The goal, which was initially announced as being scored by Christian Dvorak (on his 500th game, no less), was eventually credited to Kirby Dach.
The day after the game, and now that all confirmations have been entered, we can indeed confirm that the goal was given to Dach.
The streak continues for Kirby Dach, who has scored four goals in his last five games.
Here is the Canadiens' confirmation:
And here is the sequence in question:
Dach also collected two points on the two goals scored by the Canadiens last night in Detroit (1 goal and 1 assist), continuing his strong streak.
He's been playing so much better in recent games!
Dach, 24 years old, 6 feet 4 inches tall and 221 pounds, has 19 points in 48 games this season, but most notably, he has accumulated 6 points in his last 7 games.
He is currently on pace for a 32-point season (over 82 games), but this number could increase rapidly if he maintains his current pace.
A dominant Kirby Dach can truly make all the difference for the Montreal Canadiens, and it could even be the difference between narrowly missing the playoffs or making it in.
As for Dvorak, the 28-year-old forward has 15 points in 48 games this season, but he is playing his role very well.
Martin St-Louis had some very kind words for D-vo during a press conference yesterday afternoon in Detroit.
