Powerful shot from Patrik Laine shatters goalie Hunter Jones' helmet at practice today
The new Montreal Canadiens forward, Patrik Laine, has just tangibly demonstrated the power of his shot.
He literally broke goalie Hunter Jones' helmet with a simple shot.
Watch the footage.
Yes, Laine has quite the shot.
Patrik Laine has a good day at camp
After a quieter day yesterday, Kent Hughes' new acquisition really began to stand out today at the Montreal Canadiens training camp.
TVA Sports journalist, Anthony Martineau, had this to say:
"The Laine-Newhook-Dach line is more comfortable than yesterday. Longer offensive zone sequences. The three guys are finding each other better. Dach, in particular, seems in great shape. He moves well. Laine is agile and very hard to stop once he gets going, but sometimes tries to do too much and loses the puck avoiding some simple plays. Newhook is the least visible of the three."
- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
In a press conference a few minutes ago, Kirby Dach confirmed it. Their line was much more comfortable today, and you can feel the chemistry starting to build.
Here's what Martin St-Louis had to say about the trio (Laine-Dach-Newhook):
As Dach himself mentioned, they still have some work to do before having the chemistry of the first line (composed of Juraj Slafkovsky, Nick Suzuki, and Cole Caufield), but they are on the right track.
This line has enormous potential. Let's give them time!
