A few weeks ago, we showed you a comparison between Juraj Slafkovsky and Jack Hughes after their first 82 and 92 games in the league, respectively. We were surprised to see that between the two milestones, Slaf has significantly closed the gap he had on the New Jersey Devils forward.

Now that the Canadiens' first pick in 2022 has reached the 100-game mark in the league, it's appropriate to compare him to other first overall picks from recent drafts. The NHL's website took care of this and demonstrated in a video the point progression Slaf has had in comparison with Alexis Lafrenière, Jack Hughes, Rasmus Dahlin, and Owen Power.

As you will see, the CH's number 20 has no reason to be ashamed of his performance:

A very nice surprise.

It should be noted that the video was edited before Saturday's game, which was Slafkovsky's 100th. However, he did not score any points against the Lightning, which makes the video very current.

It will be interesting to redo this kind of comparison in a few seasons to compare the careers, in terms of points, of the first overall picks. I specify in terms of points because each player brings his touch to his team, and it goes beyond offensive production.

Still, seeing this kind of comparison can reassure and also silence detractors who wanted the CH to select Shane Wright or Logan Cooley...
