TVA Sports causes a stir by embarrassing Bo Horvat to give credit to Patrick Roy
As you know, Patrick Roy won his very first game at the helm of the New York Islanders last night.
This brings his record to 1 win and 0 losses.
The game was broadcast on TVA Sports, and after the match, the network tried to make a special gesture to nod to Patrick's first victory, but it's really causing a buzz on social media right now.
Let's just say it's not unanimously well-received.
Indeed, they replaced Bo Horvat (the real official first star of the game) with Patrick Roy.
Probably, Patrick himself wouldn't be very keen on the idea of seeing that he has replaced his player as the first star.
Bo Horvat, who played an extraordinary game and scored the big winning goal in overtime, did not get any stars of the game from TVA Sports.
"Bo Horvat was named first star of the evening by the NHL after his overtime goal last night. But at TVA Sports, it was Patrick Roy who was awarded the first star." - Maxime Truman
And you, did you like the idea or not?
