Big news for Patrick Roy and the fans
Following his team's victory over Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens, Patrick Roy has some very good news today.
Although just a few weeks ago they had only an 8% chance of making the 2024 NHL playoffs, his New York Islanders are now virtually guaranteed a spot!
Wow, what a turnaround!
They can thank their incredible winning streak, which came at just the right time.
"6th consecutive win for the Islanders last night, two big points in the standings, helping to widen the gap in the playoff race.
Three points ahead of the Penguins, who have overtaken the Capitals.
The race is heating up in the last week of the season."
- Patrick Friolet, RDS
They are four points ahead of the Washington Capitals, with three games left to play this season.
Thanks to the Montreal Canadiens; Patrick Roy's Islanders are almost qualified today!
Unless there's a major catastrophe, thanks to yesterday's victory, Patrick Roy's men will be part of the spring dance in 2024.
It will be really interesting to follow, especially since there's a bit of Montreal Canadiens in Patrick Roy.
Hockey fans in Quebec in general, and even fans of the Canadiens, will have a good reason to follow the Islanders' journey.
