There's been action in the NHL waivers in the last few minutes.

Firstly, we were surprised to learn that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens decided to pass and not claim the promising Adam Ruzicka.

Also, the Calgary Flames lost another player, as defenseman Nick DeSimone was claimed by the New Jersey Devils.

A new name on the waivers thanks to the New York Rangers: Nick Bonino!

Maybe Kent Hughes is looking more for a veteran to fill his offensive gap? (especially at center position)

Now, the Rangers have indeed made available for free the Stanley Cup Champion, Nick Bonino, who has often been described as one of the best 3rd line centers in the NHL in the past.

Bonino, 35 years old, has played 45 games with the Rangers this season. (62 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks last season - 20 points)

In his NHL career, he has 358 points in 868 games, plus 48 points in 105 playoff matches.

He earns $800,000 and his contract ends next summer.

Do you believe the Canadiens should claim him to replace Lucas Condotta as the 4th line center?

In summary, Bonino was placed on waivers, Ruzicka was claimed by the Coyotes, and DeSimone was claimed by the Devils.
