A big rumor has just surfaced regarding Claude Julien
In the last few days, no less than three head coaches have lost their jobs: Dallas Eakins (Ducks), Brad Larsen (Blue Jackets), and Peter Laviolette (Capitals).
There are also coaches who are still under scrutiny. D. J. Smith in Ottawa is one of them, as his boss Pierre Dorion did not give him a vote of confidence during the annual review on Monday morning...
On this subject, TSN journalist Shawn Simpson not only confirmed Dorion's insinuations but also stated that Claude Julien would be a candidate to watch for the position if it was to become available!
"No real vote of confidence from Dorion towards Smith. More of a compliment and thank you. Keep and eye on Claude Julien."
With his experience, Julien would indeed be the ideal coach for a short period of time to give the push that the young players of the Sens need, in order to move to the next level.
One thing is for sure, the coaching carousel will be definitely be big this summer in the NHL. It will be closely followed!
