John Tortorella Stuns With Decision to Healthy Scratch Matvei Michkov: Former Habs Forward to Replace Him
We just had a major development live from Philadelphia involving young forward Matvei Michkov.
This story is far from over...
The Philadelphia Flyers just made a big announcement, confirming that Michkov has been scratched from the lineup by head coach John Tortorella.
Clearly, something happened behind the scenes.

See their official confirmation.
«Lineup update: forward Anthony Richard will make his Flyers debut tonight in Tampa. Matvei Michkov will be removed from the lineup.
Goaltender Aleksei Kolosov will be in net.»
- Philadelphia Flyers This will be a story to watch, but knowing a bit about young Michkov's temperament, it's easy to imagine he won't be thrilled with this decision.
Michkov, 19, has already accumulated 10 points in 13 games this season, including four goals, so this decision clearly isn't based on his on-ice offensive performance.
The Flyers' 7th overall pick in the 2023 draft, selected two spots after David Reinbacher, has clearly been sent a strong message.
This is about accountability for young Michkov.
As you can imagine, this decision is generating a lot of reactions right now and certainly isn't pleasing Philadelphia fans.
We have to admit, we didn't see this coming.
More details to follow.
