Sidney Crosby Sends a Strong Message to Montreal Fans and Makes a Special Gesture
Let's talk a little about Canadian captain Sidney Crosby. I'm still on cloud nine after what Team Canada players made us experience at the Four Nations Faceoff, and I came across three noteworthy topics involving Crosby.
So, here they are all in one article.
First, a unique decision made by Crosby after Canada's victory, directly on the ice, is being highlighted everywhere today in Boston.
It may seem trivial to us, but it clearly isn't.
Once again, Crosby proved his incredible leadership by immediately handing the trophy to none other than Brad Marchand, right in the heart of the Boston Bruins' arena.
"After receiving the trophy, Crosby quickly placed it in the hands of Brad Marchand."
Samuel Doiron
When asked about the reasons for his gesture, Crosby mentioned (unsurprisingly) that the fact they were in Boston, that Marchand is one of the oldest and most veteran Canadian players, and that he was in his own arena all contributed to his decision.
Pure class, as always!
Another small leadership decision that speaks volumes.
Sidney Crosby sent a message to Montreal
I also wanted to revisit the small message Crosby sent to Montreal and the Bell Centre spectators, simply because I find it so beautiful and worth sharing, especially if you hadn't seen it.
In short, Sidney Crosby admitted that he truly felt the love from the fans in Montreal throughout the tournament, especially during the portion at the Bell Centre, and he reaffirmed that he loves playing in an environment like the one in Montreal.
"I love playing in this kind of environment.. I grew up as a Montreal Canadiens fan, and I will always remember the ovation I received here [at the start of the tournament]."
Sidney Crosby
Yes, this could definitely help put Montreal on the radar for some star players as their next destination.
It's all positive.
And finally, for my third small topic involving Sidney Crosby, it's the following video that, once again, speaks volumes about the exceptional human and athlete he is.
Wow!
