The former Montreal Canadiens forward, Mike Hoffman, was a regular for the San Jose Sharks.

He played almost all of their games this season, accumulating 22 points, including 10 goals, in 61 games.

These aren't very impressive statistics, but Hoffman was just starting to take off, having collected four points in his last four games.

However, misfortune has just struck him.

Hoffman, who is possibly playing for his future in the NHL at the end of this season, will unfortunately have to put everything on pause.

"Hoffman says he is suffering from a concussion and says it's his first concussion." - Sheng Peng, San Jose reporter

His season might therefore be over.

What's even sadder for him is that it's not so far-fetched to think that he may have played his last game in the National Hockey League.

Let's wait and see, but remember that Hoffman's contract ends this summer (he will be free as the air) and it's far from guaranteed that a team will offer him an interesting contract.

Remember that Phil Kessel is unable to find a taker, and we're talking here about two players with not so different styles.

Hoffman, 34 years old, has accumulated 486 points, including 228 goals, in 740 career games in the NHL.
