The idea has begun to circulate slowly over the last few hours, but it appears to be getting serious.

We may indeed witness a huge twist in the 2023 National Hockey League Draft.

"With his disappointing performances on the international stage, Maxime Truman thinks Adam Fantilli could fall in the upcoming draft." - Via BPM Sports

Wow, imagine the scenario! That would be big!

Truman even goes so far as to suggest that Fantilli could rank 3rd or even 4th overall. He continues.

"Everyone ranks him second in the June draft in Nashville, I think he won't come out second. I think Carlsson and/or Smith will rank before him, and if I were to bet, I would place Fantilli 3rd or 4th, not 2nd.

I don't believe he will slide to the fifth pick for the Montreal Canadiens, that would be too good of a story."

Let's remember that Fantilli has disappointed many at the international level, even though he is only 18 years old.

Despite this, he is automatically and systematically ranked second overall in all the rankings and according to all expert predictions.

Do you believe in this dramatic turn of events? Do you believe that Fantilli could miraculously slide in the draft, despite his historic numbers in the NCAA?

The decision will be up to the Anaheim Ducks, but if it happens, it could become interesting for Kent Hughes to try to advance his 5th pick by one or two to hit a home run.

Fantilli racked up an incredible 65 points (30 goals) in 36 games this season in the Big-10 (NCAA). This hasn't been seen in nearly 10 years.
