Following the Pittsburgh Penguins' regulation time loss to the Chicago Blackhawks last night, the Florida Panthers officially secured their spot in the playoffs.
Its means that their 2023 first-round draft pick, currently belonging to Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, will not be in the running for the Connor Bedard lottery.
At best, it will be a pick in the second half of the first round, which is unfortunate news for us. Ouch.
It's quite a turn of events, considering we thought it could be a top-5 pick around Christmas time. imagine!
