Hughes and the Canadiens eyeing a 6 foot 7 giant with the 26th pick
Obviously, there's a lot of talk about the Canadiens' 5th overall pick, but Kent Hughes also has a big decision to make with the 26th overall pick in the draft.
This selection, acquired through the trade with the Winnipeg Jets for Sean Monahan, is starting to become very interesting.
We have talked about Sacha Boisvert, Cole Hutson, Andrew Basha, and a few other names, but here's another very interesting one.
Dean Letourneau drafted with the first-round pick acquired from the Winnipeg Jets?
This is a possibility that is gaining more traction.
In fact, journalist Anthony Martineau reported that the Canadiens showed a lot of interest in Letourneau during an interview at the NHL Combine.
«The Canadiens really teased and tested' Dean Letourneau in the interview, the young man told me.
My agent said that teams do this when they like you,' Letourneau said with a smile.
By the way, this guy is extremely nice and charismatic.» - Anthony Martineau
So, he's a name to watch for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton's 26th overall pick.
Dean Letourneau, 18 years old, is a monstrous 6-foot-7, 215-pound center. The young man has an extremely impressive physique.
Letourneau is also described as a forward with a lot of grit and talent, having amassed 127 points in 56 games this season in the U18 AAA at St. Andrew's College.
He will eventually continue his career at Boston College in the NCAA.
He's also a name to remember for the Canadiens' fans.
