The Sheriff Arber Xhekaj just dropped the gloves and waved to the fans in the middle of the Bell Centre!
Watch the fight:
After the fight, Xhekaj even gestured to the fans:
"The Sheriff drops the gloves and invites the crowd to react to it.
The fans appreciate it." - Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
Arber Xhekaj, warmly welcomed by his teammates (and his coaches!) as he exited the penalty box after his fight.
A sequence that speaks volumes about the respect he commands in the Canadiens' locker room.
Many fans jokingly say in the comments that it was also a message sent to his head coach Martin St-Louis, and they may not be 100% wrong, let's say.
