Is Murray's Most Recent Injury Season-Ending?
This morning, the Leafs revealed that they would be promoting goaltender Joseph Woll from the Toronto Marlies.
The move doesn't seem to be due to an emergency situation, suggesting that Woll will be staying in the NHL for some time.
Since teams are only permitted three call-ups following the trade deadline, there's a growing likelihood that Matt Murray will not be fit for the playoffs.
Although Ilya Samsonov appears to be the favored choice for playoff starter, it's still disheartening to see Murray, who has time remaining on his contract, unable to maintain his health throughout the season.
