Terrible news for the Maple Leafs just days before the start of the season
Just a few days away from the first game of the regular season, terrible news has befallen the Toronto Maple Leafs. Indeed, the organization's number one goaltender, Ilya Samsonov, had to leave the morning training after taking a shot from Calle Jarnkrok.
According to some journalists on site, the 26-year-old Russian immediately retreated to the locker room afterward, appearing to feel rather concerning discomfort.

Let's hope for the Leafs that their netminder isn't seriously injured, as there's no doubt that Samsonov will play a major role in the team's success this year.
The 6'3" goaltender, weighing around 215 pounds, had an exceptional season in 2022-2023, finishing the year with an impressive record of 27 wins, 10 losses, and 5 overtime losses. He also recorded a goals-against average of 2.33 and a save percentage of 0.919.
