The Canadiens just revealed the real reason for Mike Matheson's surprise absence and it is concerning
As we quickly reported to you, a few minutes before the start of the game against the Ottawa Senators, the Montreal Canadiens decided to remove Mike Matheson from the lineup, at the last second (even though he was supposed to play).
This has raised many questions and concerns on social media.
Finally, the Canadiens has just announced this
"It is as a precautionary measure that Mike Matheson is not playing tonight. We should know more after the game." - Renaud Lavoie, TVA Sports
It is therefore a relief to see that it is nothing serious, but at the same time, it is worrying to see that something is bothering him (given his crucial importance for the club's success).
Let's hope it is not a recurring injury.
Martin St-Louis will provide more details in a press briefing after the match.
Here is the announcement.
