The verdict just came in for Juraj Slafkovsky and it is not unanimous
At a press conference yesterday, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, was asked about Juraj Slafkovsky, and his response was very clear.
When asked if young Slafkovsky could play in the upcoming senior World Championship, Hughes was very clear: no.
"Slafkovsky will probably come back next fall, we will continue to evaluate him but we will not take any risks. We have already been unlucky enough with injuries."
-Kent Hughes
He Injured his knee, the Canadiens announced on January 18 that Slafkovsky's absence would be three months.
In 39 games this season, the 18-year-old rookie has scored 10 points in his first year with the Montreal Canadiens.
"The Canadiens prefer that Juraj Slafkovsky return to play next fall, rather than this spring with Slovakia at the World Championship."
- Alexandre Pratt
So we will have to be very patient before seeing Slafkovsky in action again.
