While some members of the media expected new developments in the expansion case, the NHL's top official instead surprised those present by mentioning that an international tournament was in the plans.
For now, we have very few details on this eventual event that the NHL is preparing, but it must be admitted that it is likely to be very popular with hockey fans, especially in Canada.
The possibility of finally seeing a Canadian team composed of Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby is already a dream, and we can even envision the presence of a certain Connor Bedard. Imagine for a second the chance for hockey fans to see a team lined up with three generational players.
We remember that two years ago, NHL players were supposed to go to Asia for the 2022 Winter Olympics, but unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic had thrown a wrench in the works and the presence of the best players in the world had to be canceled.
The last NHL appearance at the Olympics dates back to the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, where Carey Price helped Canada win the gold medal in the final, winning 3-0 against Sweden.
