The former Montreal Canadien defenseman P.K. Subban, inactive as an NHL player since 2022, is now a television analyst.

And in the last few hours, he has been talked about for the wrong reasons.

Personally, I don't think it's the end of the world, but it's currently a big controversy on social media and in the media.

Some fans are outright calling for his firing from ESPN, imagine.

A joke by P.K. Subban does not sit well with many hockey fans

See a summary of what happened:

After a segment showing Jack Eichel cutting his stick with a saw, ESPN's studio show saw P.K. Subban say "I'm not a carpenter, but I do carry around a hammer," Steve Levy say "Yes, you do! So I've heard," and Mark Messier just look into the camera

And the video:

As you can see in the article from our colleagues at Blade of Steel (Fans react to PK Subban's inappropriate comment), it's causing a lot of buzz today and it's going far.

This will be a case to follow, and I would be very surprised to see Subban get sanctioned for this, but he might receive a small warning from his boss, especially since ESPN is trying to reach more young hockey fans.

Subban, 34, has amassed 467 points, including 115 goals, in 834 career NHL games. He has also racked up over 900 penalty minutes.

Fans aren't happy with PK's comments and some are even calling for his firing:
