Gary Bettman's annual salary has been leaked, and it's worse than expected
The annual salary of Gary Bettman, the NHL commissioner, has just been revealed.
In fact, we have to rely on past and incomplete data to get an idea because Gary Bettman evidently works extremely hard to keep his salary confidential.
That said, reporter Ian Thomas mentioned that Gary Bettman pocketed more than $9.6 million in salary and benefits just during the 2013-2014 season.
He had pocketed $8.8 million in salary and benefits the previous year (and $8 million in 2011-2012).
So, we see that his salary is increasing at an incredible rate, year after year.
We know these are old figures, but as we mentioned above, this data is extremely difficult to find (and confidential), but it still gives a good idea of the magnitude.
Please also note that Bill Daly's salary, at the same time, was $3.1 million per year. Bettman's right-hand man is also earning a very good living.

Another source mentions that he is the highest-earning member (executives, players, etc.) in the history of the National Hockey League.
The site "SportsKeeda" estimates Gary Bettman's net worth at $110 million as of 2023. (though I would lean towards TSLH)
In any case, let's just say that Mr. Bettman earns an extremely good living and makes a very good salary.
Even though his current salary is highly confidential, if we rely on the increases from 2011 to 2015, we can probably assert, without too much error, that he likely makes more than $15 million per year currently.
