Bell Media has just made a major announcement involving Amazon Prime Video.

See their official post.

Bell Media is pleased to announce that the extensive sports programming offered by RDS is now available in Canada on Prime Video.

Starting today, Prime members can add RDS linear and on-demand channel content through their Prime Video account.

This means that from now on, most of the programming aired on RDS will be available on Prime Video in Canada.

A Historic Pact Between RDS and Prime Video

In fact, everything is available right now, as we speak. Wow!

It's a historic agreement, and it's likely to raise a ton of questions once again about the future of traditional cable television.

Is Bell Media simply trying to stay ahead of the curve?

Could this set the stage for a great collaboration if Prime Video secures the next NHL broadcasting contract in 2026?

It raises many questions and few answers for the moment, but it's certainly an intriguing deal.

Let's remember that Amazon Prime Video has already secured Monday night broadcasting rights to show NHL games in English on their platform. Judging by recent statements from Commissioner Gary Bettman, this seems to be only the tip of the iceberg.

And you, does this type of deal make you more interested in subscribing to Prime Video? Do you believe, like Gary Bettman, that this platform reaches far more people, even here in Quebec, compared to traditional television?

I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of this deal between Bell Media and Amazon Prime Video.
