Patrick Roy's Islanders lost again last night against the Carolina Hurricanes, and Ilya Sorokin's return did not have the desired effect.

They are now trailing 3-0 in the best-of-seven series and will face elimination and a potential sweep tomorrow afternoon.

Yesterday, Sorokin unfortunately allowed three goals on 14 shots and was pulled from the game by Roy with the score at 3-1.

Clearly, this greatly affected the young Sorokin, and we witnessed an extremely rare scene at the Islanders' bench. A sad scene.

Ilya Sorokin did not move for a long time in his team's corridor, following Patrick Roy's decision

How did Sorokin react to being pulled from the game by Roy? Was he frustrated? Not at all, the young star goalie was rather emotionally devastated.

It's rare to see, but upon arriving at the bench, Sorokin simply stood in the tunnel leading to the locker room, staring at the ground.

He remained motionless, in that position, for a long time.

"Ilya Sorokin has been standing in the tunnel with all his gear since he was pulled."

Clearly, he was very upset with himself, but as many fans pointed out, we must not forget that Sorokin has been absolutely phenomenal on multiple occasions for the Islanders over the past few years.

« No no no no...

I can't. Sorokin doesn't deserve to feel this way. This man has carried this team on his back more times than we can count.

We still love you, Sorokin.. » - Islanders fans

He remains one of the best goaltender in the world without a doubt.
