We have just learned that the Montreal Canadiens prospect, Daniil Sobolev, has been traded by his OHL team, the Windsor Spitfires.
Sobolev effectively moves from the Spitfires to the Niagara IceDogs, in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2025, an 8th round pick in 2025, and a 15th round pick in 2025.
Sobolev, 20 years old, is a right-handed defender standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 220 pounds, who was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2021.
Last season, he accumulated 9 points in 48 games with Windsor, with a differential of +12. The previous season, he had 17 points in 62 games and a differential of +25.
Sobolev's rights belong to the Canadiens until June 1, 2025, according to Cap Friendly. So he still has plenty of time to develop, and this development will continue in Niagara.
