Last-Minute Major Statement Regarding Matt Duchene and the Montreal Canadiens
As you know, one of the big surprises this off-season has undoubtedly been the buyout of Matt Duchene's contract by the Nashville Preds.
After all, we're talking about a player who racked up an impressive 86 points, including 43 goals, in 2022, and nearly 60 points in 71 games last season.
Few experts understand this decision by the Preds.
In short, Duchene is now a member of the Dallas Stars. (after signing a one-year contract worth three million dollars)

Speaking of Matt Duchene and his contractual situation, he made a very interesting revelation about the Habs.
Duchene outright stated that in 2019, he spoke with the Canadiens to sign a big contract in Montreal, and he was interested in accepting Marc Bergevin's offer, but it was his second choice behind the Nashville Preds.
Duchene ended up signing a 7-year contract with an annual value of 8 million dollars.
