It's no longer a secret to anyone, the three-goalie situation in Montreal is starting to bother quite a few people.

Starting with Jake Allen, who doesn't seem to be at the top of his game in recent weeks, having just suffered seven consecutive losses. The 33-year-old veteran, like another member of the goalie trio, Cayden Primeau, has been part of trade rumors for some weeks, and it's heard here and there that some teams would like to reinforce their goaltending, including the Edmonton Oilers.

However, for CH fans hoping Kent Hughes will make an imminent trade involving Primeau or Allen, they received, in a way, a cold shower from a well-informed insider about what's happening in the NHL.

During his appearance on BPM Sports during the Laraque and Gonzalez show, Pierre LeBrun stated that the Canadiens' general manager has not yet received an offer for the services of Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau.

This is information that might disappoint some Canadiens fans, and also some members of the Montreal media, who hope that the three-goalie situation ends as soon as possible.

On the other hand, it is becoming more and more evident that this situation cannot last and that with the contract extension Samuel Montembeault has obtained, the days of Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau in Montreal are numbered.

It remains to be seen which of the two will be sacrificed.
