Good News for the Canadiens Days Before the Trade Deadline: Renaud Lavoie Shares the Details
We finally have some good news for the Canadiens, just days before the NHL trade deadline.
Since returning from the Four Nations Faceoff break, the Habs have been racking up wins, and even before last night's victory against the Buffalo Sabres, Martin St-Louis' squad was already on a three-game winning streak.
Despite that, the Canadiens were absolutely unable to get closer to a playoff spot.
We were stuck five points out of the playoffs, simply because the other teams kept winning too.
However, as of today and following the win in Buffalo, the Canadiens have finally moved within just three points of the Detroit Red Wings and a playoff spot.
Good news: The Canadiens are finally closing in on a playoff spot just days before the NHL trade deadline
As TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie explained last night in his post-game report, here's how the current standings look following the recent games.
Columbus Blue Jackets (1st Wild Card) - 68 points in 60 games
Detroit Red Wings (2nd Wild Card) - 66 points in 60 games
Ottawa Senators (Out of Playoffs) - 64 points in 59 games
Boston Bruins (Out of Playoffs) - 64 points in 61 games
Montreal Canadiens (Out of Playoffs) - 63 points in 60 games
New York Rangers (Out of Playoffs) - 62 points in 59 games
The Habs are finally starting to climb the standings officially.
Moreover, I personally believe that the Canadiens have a real chance of surpassing the Bruins, the Senators, and the Red Wings.
These are beatable teams.
And you, are you starting to believe in an NHL playoff berth again for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens?
