Trade alert for Seth Jones' younger brother, Caleb, and the fans are confused
We just had a transaction in the NHL, and it involves Seth Jones' younger brother, Caleb.
Caleb Jones has indeed just been traded from the Carolina Hurricanes to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Callahan Burke.
Confusion Among Fans
It was announced that Callahan will stay in Colorado for now, and he will still play for the Avalanche's farm team.
How is that possible?
Well, an interesting and very unusual fact: the Avalanche's farm team can indeed still keep Burke on their roster, even after his trade to the Hurricanes, because Carolina no longer has an AHL team.
Really special.
This means that Jones and Burke will play in the Avalanche's affiliate, even though they've just been traded for one another.
More details to follow.
