When Kent Hughes met with the media earlier this week, he appeared open to making a transaction involving Carey Price's contract.

As we know, number 31 will not be returning to play, and getting rid of his contract would be a good thing for the organization considering that several million dollars will be available next summer.

Moreover, the Canadiens' GM mentioned it to journalist Pierre LeBrun in a recent article on the The Athletic website.

"I believe there is always a possibility of concluding something. I don't know what such a trade would look like, and I ultimately don't know if it will happen, but I would certainly not describe such a scenario as something impossible."

That said, this scenario is conceivable, and it seems we might witness something big in the coming weeks.

As reported by Keven Mawn, from the Go Nordiques.com website, LeBrun has added that he believes Hughes might move faster than we think on this issue.

LeBrun flatly stated that he believes Montreal might indeed be working on something big, possibly including Carey Price's contract.

He's not saying this randomly:

For now, we don't know what is going on, and it will be interesting to follow the developments of this case in the coming weeks.
