There was some action in the NHL trade market yesterday, thanks to Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

This might well be the case today, thanks to Pierre Dorion and the Ottawa Senators.

See what TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie posted:

"Case to watch today, that of Shane Pinto who is still without a contract. The Senators want to make a trade as quickly as possible so that the Pinto case doesn't drag on too long with the opening of training camps today."

- Renaud Lavoie

In English, he adds that Ottawa needs to finalize a trade (possibly involving Mathieu Joseph) and that it should be done "sooner rather than later".

This is their number one priority at the moment and it has just been confirmed by the renowned Elliotte Friedman.

Stay tuned! A trade can be announced at any moment and the phone is very active in Ottawa.

Pinto, 22 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 192-pound center. He was the 32nd overall pick in the 2019 draft and he has accumulated 43 points in 99 career NHL games.

He is extremely sought after and the Sens have literally no room to sign him.

Will Kent Hughes find (again) a way to take advantage of a team in serious difficulties? Imagine acquiring Joseph and a solid draft pick, in exchange for future considerations!
