We finally know the exact moment when Patrick Kane will be traded and his next destination is known
In the past few days, the Patrick Kane situation has caused a lot of reaction and a trade seems more imminent than ever. All signs point towards him heading to the New York Rangers, but it is an extremely complex transaction.
The proof? Even though the trade appears to be in place between the Blackhawks and the Rangers, according to Chris Johnston (TSN), Kane will not be traded before Wednesday!
"Despite all indications remaining positive on a deal sending Patrick Kane to the New York Rangers eventually getting done, the transaction itself probably won't be officially executed until Wednesday at the earliest. It could even go down to the 3 p.m. Friday deadline, as the salary-cap implications are complex. Progress is being made every day."
Chris Johnston
Remember that there will likely be a third team involved in the trade to retain part of Kane's salary.
Also remember that not only is Kane no longer in uniform for the Chicago Blackhawks (to avoid injury), but he has also apparently left his team to go back home. He may have played his last game with the Hawks.
In short, it's a very big situation.
