It's always interesting to analyze and comment on when a serious network launches concrete trade proposals.

As we approach the trade deadline on March 8, that's exactly what Sportsnet has done.

One of the trades put forward by SN involves Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens. So let's talk about it.

A three-team trade involving Jake Allen and Ryan Johansen?

We remind you that this comes from Sportsnet, especially because we are really not a fan of this proposal.

For the CH, it's a pretty good trade, but the Colorado Avalanche are paying WAY too much, at least in our opinion.

Here is the proposal in question:

It would be a three-team trade involving Colorado, Anaheim, and Montreal:

COLORADO would receive Adam Henrique and Jake Allen

ANAHEIM would receive Calum Ritchie, the 1st round COL pick in 2025, Sean Behrens, and Ryan Johansen

MTL would receive a 3rd round pick in 2026 from Colorado

*ANA would retain 50% of the contracts of Henrique and Allen

Wow. If the Ducks' GM pulls off such a move, give him the General Manager of the Year title immediately!

The Avalanche receives two players who definitely fill two big needs for them, but it would cost them two excellent prospects (including one elite according to Craig Button) and a 1st round pick!

That's way too much to pay in our opinion.

Here, the Canadiens would trade Jake Allen for a 3rd round pick without retaining a penny of salary, which seems very solid for Kent Hughes.

Stay tuned!
