The former New York Rangers goaltender and current hockey analyst, Martin Biron, has indeed just floated a major trade proposal between the Canadiens and the Rangers.

Let us recall that, in the past hours, we have learned that Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba are genuinely on their way out of the Rangers organization.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers "have made it clear that they want to make changes and shake up the roster."

The names being considered are Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba.

A trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers involving Jacob Trouba?

On BPM Sports radio, Martin Biron stated that Kent Hughes should target the acquisition of the very rugged Jacob Trouba.

One thing is certain, he would certainly command respect and make opposing players think twice when attempting to enter the Montreal Canadiens' zone.

"Assuming the Rangers would agree to retain $3 million of his $8 million annual salary, [Martin Biron] claims that in exchange for defenseman Arber Xhekaj and a prospect, he would make that trade tomorrow morning because Trouba is exactly what the Canadiens are currently missing."

And you, would you make the following trade?

Jacob Trouba, at $5 million, in exchange for Arber Xhekaj and a prospect.

Trouba, aged 30, is a 6-foot-3, 212-pound defenseman. He was a first-round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2012 (9th overall) and has recorded 6 points in 20 games this season, with 17 penalty minutes and a positive plus-minus of +1.

Over his career in the NHL, he has tallied 315 points in 768 games, including a 50-point season in 2019.

A situation to keep an eye on in New York!
