Insider Frank Seravalli Identifies the Canadiens Player Most Likely to Be Traded
We have some updates regarding potential trades involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
As the holiday season approaches, as it does every year, trade rumors are heating up.
For the Habs, the well-known Frank Seravalli has highlighted two players in particular, and we also have an intriguing development involving Mike Matheson.
Mike Matheson is among the top 10 NHL players most likely to be traded, according to Frank Seravalli
I didn't think Matheson was really «at risk» of being traded, but based on Seravalli's insights, it seems that's very much the case.
«The insider believes Kent Hughes could be tempted to move him because the defenseman's value will be at its peak.
The Canadiens might not have a choice, given that his value will likely be at its highest by the trade deadline.» - Frank Seravalli
Even worse, Matheson is indeed ranked in the top 10 NHL players most likely to be involved in a trade.
It's quite striking to hear him suggest that Kent Hughes might not have a choice but to trade Matheson fairly soon.
This is definitely a situation to watch.
The other name to keep an eye on, less surprising this time, is David Savard.
His contract ends at the conclusion of this season, after which he will become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) and will be free as a bird.
In fact, Seravalli mentions that Kent Hughes will probably trade either Matheson OR Savard, but is very unlikely to trade both. (which makes perfect sense)
And if it were your decision, what would you do?
