Kent Hughes has placed 2 players on the trade market according to Seravalli
According to the reputable Frank Seravalli, Kent Hughes and the Canadiens have just placed two players on the trade market, including a surprise on defense.
Firstly, despite his great relationship with young players like Cole Caufield and Arber Xhekaj, David Savard is still officially on the market.
We thought it would be more of a "trade deadline" transaction, due to Savard's crucial importance to the young players, but it looks like he could leave as early as this summer.
The reputable Frank Seravalli, who has sources all over the National Hockey League, has just published a highly anticipated article.
He reveals the 20 players in the league who are on the trade market, and two of these 20 players belong to the Montreal Canadiens.
First, we indeed find the defenseman David Savard in 14th position.
«Scoop: Last summer, the Habs unloaded another veteran defenseman in Joel Edmundson on July 1 in exchange for third and seventh-round picks. Savard is in a different position as a right-shooting defenseman, where there is a premium. But so are the Canadiens this time around. They will need a veteran presence to help shepherd the young guys through their lineup this season. But Montreal also has a bit of a logjam on defense, with plenty of right-shot guys coming. The Canadiens will be listening on Savard, even if they end up keeping him through the summer, to begin initial conversations in the lead-up to next year's trade deadline.»
- Frank Seravalli Interesting! So, Savard could already be on the market, simply to start discussions in anticipation of the 2025 trade deadline.
A big case to follow, then!
Secondly, center Christian Dvorak is also available, finding himself in 18th position on this list, just ahead of a certain Trevor Zegras.
See the full article right here. In the first position, we find none other than star forward Mitch Marner:
It looks promising for the draft!
