The journalist from TVA Sports, Renaud Lavoie, has just confirmed the trade rumor involving forward Chris Kreider.
The Montreal Canadiens now have an unexpected chance to add a top-6 player of his caliber!
According to what he mentioned in his most recent article, titled la dérive des Rangers, Kreider is officially on the trade market.
Chris Kreider Available: Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton Have a Chance to Acquire an Excellent Forward
Gorton, in particular, knows Kreider very well.
Here is the exact excerpt from Renaud Lavoie's article:
«Two weeks ago, the president and general manager of the Rangers sent a message to his counterparts indicating that Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider were officially on the trade market.»
- Renaud Lavoie It couldn't be clearer. Trouba has been traded and Kreider is openly available for a trade.
Kreider, 33 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound forward who was drafted 19th overall (1st round) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
This season, he has scored 10 goals in 24 games, and in recent years, he has notably scored:
39 goals in 2023-24
36 goals in 2022-23
52 goals in 2021-22
He earns $6.5 million per year until 2027 and consistently elevates his game during crucial moments, particularly in the playoffs.
We know Trouba was traded last week and it's expected that Kreider will be next.
Do you believe the Montreal Canadiens should seize this opportunity?

Also, as reported by TSN's Daren Dreger, the Rangers have placed Kaapo kakko on the trade block.
"Several teams are circling around Chris Drury and the Rangers, beyond what has been speculated this week regarding the availability of Chris Kreider. I'm told that Kaapo Kakko's name has resurfaced.
Ice time is an issue. Kakko probably wants a fresh start, but again, if they trade pieces like him, the return must be exactly what the Rangers want. But there is undoubtedly interest." This is a story to follow.
