The Canadiens have made their decision regarding Logan Mailloux
According to information from the renowned David Pagnotta, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have made their decision regarding the young defenseman Logan Mailloux.
The TFP informant reports that Mailloux is in the same category as Kaiden Guhle, Lane Hutson, and David Reinbacher, thus in the category of untouchable or nearly untouchable defensemen.
This is excellent news!
This means that, despite some information that has circulated over the past few weeks, Logan Mailloux will not be traded by the Canadiens this summer!
Do not expect a trade involving Logan Mailloux!
Clearly, the Canadiens see Mailloux as a pillar and a player around whom to build for the long term.
Mailloux, 21 years old, a first-round pick by Montreal in 2021 (31st overall pick), is a right-handed defenseman who had an extraordinary rookie season with the Laval Rocket.
He amassed 47 points, including 14 goals, in 72 games this season, along with one point in one game in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens.
If Kent Hughes uses a young defenseman in a trade to acquire a solid forward, it will evidently not be Mailloux in the end.
Details to follow.
