The Canadiens rivals are reportedly interested in acquiring Jordan Harris according to insider
With less than a month to go until the trade deadline, it will be interesting to see what Kent Hughes does on the trade market.
While rumors about Jake Allen have been making headlines in Quebec since the start of the season, perhaps attention should be turned to another Canadiens player who could well be packing his bags by next March 8.
As reported by Marqueur.com, it seems that the Canadiens' GM is actively trying to trade defenseman Jordan Harris, and this has even been confirmed by informant Jacob Stoller from The Hockey News.
"I'm told that the Montreal Canadiens are shopping Jordan Harris right now before the trade deadline.
Harris is a 23-year-old left-handed defenseman who skates well and has one more year left on his contract ($1.4M). The surplus of young defensemen in MTL has made him replaceable."
So it's confirmed! Jordan Harris is available!
Let's just say that this does not surprise us, as there is starting to be a certain congestion among the Canadiens' defensemen and Harris is not necessarily having a great season, having also missed about twenty games due to injuries.
And now another insider has also declared that Jordan Harris could well be on his way out of Montreal.
According to Jimmy Murphy from Boston Hockey Now, Kent Hughes indeed intends to shop his young defenseman.
"Regarding NHL trade rumors involving the Canadiens and defenseman Jordan Harris:
I'm told that given Harris's fall in the depth chart with so many good young defensemen in the Canadiens organization, Harris is definitely on the trade market.
Knowing how much Kent Hughes likes Harris as a person, he will probably try to find the best place for Harris to get more playing time and develop, provided that the return makes sense for the Canadiens."
Among the teams that should be closely watched for a potential trade involving Harris are the Calgary Flames, the Dallas Stars, and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
It will be interesting to follow this file in the coming weeks and to know what could be the value of Jordan Harris on the market.
