REPORT: Pierre LeBrun just announced that a trade involving Habs veteran is very possible
When Kent Hughes acquired Tanner Pearson at the start of the season, in exchange for Casey DeSmith, let's remember, many thought he would bring in a draft pick at the next trade deadline.
His start to the season, having scored five points in his first five games with the club, gave a lot of hope to the fans. However, an upper-body injury came to halt his momentum as he has only two points in 13 games since returning to play.
Pierre LeBrun announces that a trade is still possible for Tanner Pearson
However, there is hope to see him leave by March 8th. The hockey insider specifies that Pearson is indeed on the list of some GMs, but not at the top. Therefore, he could very well leave at the last minute, when the plans A, B, or even C of some clubs have failed.
His cap hit is $3.25M, something that might scare many off from paying for Tanner Pearson, but he has lots of experience.
Kent Hughes might have to retain some salary, but does he want to? With already two salaries retained out of a possibility of three, he might prefer to be a third party in a transaction like the one that could send Jake Guentzel elsewhere! Unless he prefers to use this spot to facilitate a transaction involving Jake Allen?
