Igor Shesterkin is undoubtedly among the few best goaltenders in the world right now.

The Montreal Canadiens appear to have a problem in net, particularly due to the very shaky performances of Cayden Primeau.

We know that Jacob Fowler won't be ready to play in the NHL for a few more years, according to all indications, and we know Kent Hughes will have a lot of money available under the salary cap next summer.

Considering all these factors, could star goaltender Igor Shesterkin be a target for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton?

Find out his official value.

An NHL executive reveals the true value of goaltender Igor Shesterkin

As reported by Sam Doiron of HABSolumentFan, an NHL executive confirmed the following to reporters Arthur Staple and Peter Baugh of The Athletic regarding Shesterkin:

«There would be 25 teams trying to find a way to sign him, even if we're talking about $13-14 million (per year).»

That's a huge amount!

It would be a significant jump compared to the contracts awarded to Andrei Vasilevskiy, Carey Price, and Sergei Bobrovsky.

And in your opinion, as excellent as Igor Shesterkin is, do you think it's a good idea to give $13-14 million per year to a star goaltender?

At 28 years old, Shesterkin has a career NHL save percentage of 0.920, with a goals-against average of 2.46 and a record of 143-67-18.

Yes, he's truly outstanding.

This season, he has a save percentage of 0.913, a goals-against average of 2.93, and a record of 8-8-1.

A situation to watch closely.

Remember a few weeks ago, Igor Shesterkin declined an 8-year, $88M contract from the Rangers.
