Trade between the Canadiens and the Ducks involving Trevor Zegras: a very interesting specific offer has just been suggested by a fan
It's always interesting to put oneself in the shoes of the General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, and to judge a hypothetical transaction.
Here is one that has just been suggested by a fan and we love it.
Let's recall two important points:
- The Canadiens have FIVE first-round picks over the next three drafts.
- Frank Seravalli confirmed last night that Trevor Zegras is indeed 100% available on the trade market.
- Montreal has often been linked to Zegras by very reliable sources.
Knowing all this, here is the proposed transaction.
A trade between the Canadiens and the Ducks involving Trevor Zegras?
TO MONTREAL:
- Trevor Zegras
TO ANAHEIM:
- Winnipeg's 1st round pick 2024 (22nd to 32nd overall)
- Calgary or Florida's 1st round pick 2025 (acquired for free by hosting Sean Monahan)
- Sean Farrell
- Justin Barron Would you do it?
It may seem costly at first glance, but the two first-round picks involved here are likely to be outside the top-20 and possibly even outside the top-25.
Moreover, technically speaking, these picks were given to Kent Hughes for free (one was given by the Flames to take Monahan and the other was obtained from the Jets for Monahan).
Furthermore, bringing Cole Caufield's best friend could only help him!
If the Ducks were open to such a trade, would you accept?
