Trade between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes: a concrete offer has just been submitted by Montreal Hockey Now
This is not the first time it has caused a stir, but it was recently brought up by Montreal Hockey Now, and it's an interesting proposal.
As the trade deadline approaches, with veteran Allen clearly available for a trade, here's an offer proposed by MHN.
"Allen is a regular on TSN's list of players at risk of being traded. He is a veteran who could be a solid insurance policy for a contending team with a less reliable #2 goalie. Kent Hughes will probably have to retain part of his salary.
Potential buyers: Carolina, Colorado, Edmonton, Los Angeles, New Jersey, and Toronto." - Franck Bernard
He adds that his hunch is that the Carolina Hurricanes will acquire Jake Allen. (or at least, are the favorites)
"As for the potential return, Kent Hughes could aim to reunite the Suzuki brothers (as they did with the Xhekaj brothers), and in addition, they would add depth at center.
Kent Hughes seems to like giving a second chance to players drafted in the 1st round in 2019. It could be the perfect combo." - Franck Bernard
Would you do it? Jake Allen for Ryan Suzuki?
TO MONTREAL - RYAN SUZUKI
TO CAROLINA - JAKE ALLEN
Suzuki, 22 years old, is indeed a 1st round pick in 2019 (28th overall) and he is a six-foot, 176-pound left-handed center.
He has amassed 42 points in his last 77 games in the AHL and is still looking for his first official NHL game.
