Two significant trades brought two promising young forwards into the organization.
Since their arrival in Montreal, the two former first-round picks in 2019 have seen their careers take a new turn, and as the saying goes, "third time's the charm," everything suggests that Kent Hughes might be tempted by the addition of a new top-6 forward.
That said, it seems that two young forwards could indeed be on the Canadiens' radar according to TVA Sports, namely Alexander Holtz of the New Jersey Devils and Jack Quinn of the Buffalo Sabres.
Quinn's case is quite interesting because he just recorded 19 points in 27 games in Buffalo in 2023-2024, after having an impressive rookie season the previous year, and as we know, the Sabres have an abundance of promising young forwards in their lineup.
As for Holtz, he is off to a rather quiet start in his career, and this seventh overall pick in 2020 is in a similar situation to Quinn with the surplus of forwards in New Jersey.
Like Dach and Newhook, a change of scenery could be beneficial for the two young forwards, and who knows, one of them could be the solution for the Canadiens to complete their top-6 attack.
