For the first time since his arrival with the Montreal Canadiens, General Manager Kent Hughes will have a lot of money to spend on the free agent market if he desires.

He could make a big splash, and there will be some very interesting names available.

Jonathan Marchessault free as a bird this summer: how much would it cost Kent Hughes to get him?

According to what The Athletic reports, here is the price to pay for the very talented forward and Stanley Cup champion.

"Market value of $7.2 million via The Athletic."

At this price, would you bring him to the Habs?

According to The Athletic, Marchessault's value on the free agent market is indeed evaluated at precisely $7.2 million.

Marchessault, 33 years old, accumulates 44 points in 54 games this season, including 28 goals. The right winger from Cap-Rouge earns five million per year, but will be free as a bird on July 1st.

A file to follow.

He is one of the best wingers in the NHL without a doubt, but we might possibly aim for a free agent closer to the age of Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Juraj Slafkovsky.

What about you?
