Captain Nick Suzuki Sends a Clear Message to Martin St. Louis: He Has Chosen His Ideal Linemates and Wants to Stick With Them Long-Term
As you know, for a few games now, young Juraj Slafkovsky has been playing on the first line of the Montreal Canadiens, alongside Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.
On this topic, during his press conference today, Captain Suzuki surprised us by going out of his way and taking the opportunity to send a clear message to his head coach Martin St-Louis: he wants it to stay this way.
After having good moments with his new Slovak partner, see Nick's clear message.
"I think we're playing very well all three of us. I hope we can stay together with Slafkovsky!"
- Nick Suzuki
This is obviously great news for those, like us, who wish Slafkovsky keeps his spot.
We get the impression we are not the only ones thinking this.
"He's been playing really good hockey for now two or three weeks. I've covered recent games and he was the best player on the Canadiens. Every time he touches the puck, things happen. He controls, goes between the two defenders, finds Caufield, finds Suzuki, protects his puck better than before, falls less often, is stronger physically and is gaining confidence!"
