We have an update regarding a proposed transaction speculated by some experts, involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres.

We received an interesting clue yesterday when insider Kevin Weekes dropped information about Montreal's interest in young forward Dylan Cozens. Well, another intriguing clue emerged in the evening, pointing in the same direction.

For the game between the Canadiens and the Kings last night, a ton of teams sent scouts to attend the Canadiens' game.

Buffalo Sabres Send Scouts to Canadiens Game

However, among these teams that suddenly showed up at the Canadiens' game, there was.. you guessed it.. the Buffalo Sabres!

«The Nashville Predators, Buffalo Sabres, Vegas Golden Knights, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Seattle Kraken, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers all had a confirmed representative in the stands.

Notably, the Preds sent two representatives to the game.» - Marco Normandin

It's clear that Kent Hughes' phone must be ringing quite a bit, and with the information revealed by Weekes yesterday, it's very interesting to see the Sabres showing interest in Canadiens players.

There's no smoke without fire, as they say.

Also, note that Buffalo Sabres executives recently attended a Laval Rocket game at Place Bell, which is very rare.

Let's just say the clues are piling up.

This is a situation we will closely monitor for you.

Cozens, 23 years old, 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, was the 7th overall pick in 2019 and has accumulated 76 goals and 192 points in 333 games in the NHL.
