Anaheim has reportedly made its decision for the 3rd overall pick
The Anaheim Ducks have reportedly made a significant decision regarding the 3rd overall pick in the 2024 draft, and this changes everything for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Of course, we know that many Canadiens fans hope to see the team acquire young Ivan Demidov, and this possibility will be heavily influenced by the Ducks' choice at the 3rd spot.
Let's remember that all indications suggest, for now, that the Chicago Blackhawks will select Artyom Levshunov with the 2nd overall pick and that the Columbus Blue Jackets will draft a CHL player with the 4th overall pick.
That leaves the Anaheim Ducks with their 3rd pick.
Ivan Demidov and Anton Silayev overlooked by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2024 draft?
This is an extremely interesting development for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
See what Samuel Doiron reports.
«In a recent podcast episode, Grant McCagg made a surprising statement, mentioning that the Ducks have Beckett Sennecke and Carter Yakemchuk in their sights.
He also explains that Verbeek is likely to stay away from players Ivan Demidov and Anton Silayev, which makes sense considering the Ducks almost never draft players from there.» The Ducks reportedly have two very surprising players on their radar for the 3rd pick, namely young Beckett Sennecke and Carter Yakemchuk
Clearly, the Montreal Canadiens aren't the only ones who like Sennecke.
It will be very interesting to watch, and we are really eager to know the final answer in about ten days, but don't be surprised if the Anaheim Ducks cause a stir with their third overall pick.
Let's remember they surprised everyone just last year by selecting Leo Carlsson over Adam Fantilli with the 2nd overall pick.
For now, it seems to be an excellent choice on their part.
We can't wait for the 2024 NHL Draft!
