In the last few minutes, journalist Adrian Dater, who covers the Colorado Avalanche, released the following information:
"The Avalanche is actively looking for a new #2 goalie in the trade market. Halak, Vladar, and Casey DeSmith (from the Montreal Canadiens) are their main targets for a trade. Francouz is injured for a while." Stay tuned, but all signs point to a trade announcement coming very soon from the Avalanche, and they are currently negotiating, notably with the Montreal Canadiens for DeSmith.
Given the rich trade history between Colorado and Kent Hughes, don't be surprised if it happens quickly.
This confirms what we reported to you last week. DeSmith might go to Colorado.
DeSmith, 32 years old, has a career save percentage of 0.912 in the NHL, an average of 2.81, and a record of 58-44-15.
What would you ask for in exchange?
