Major last-minute announcement involving the excellent defensemen Samuel Girard
In the last few seconds, the NHL has made a major announcement regarding hometown defenseman Samuel Girard of the Colorado Avalanche.
This is great news.
"The NHL and NHLPA announced today that Avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard has been cleared to resume practicing with the team and has entered the follow-up care phase of the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program." - National Hockey League
This explains why Girard started practicing with his teammates yesterday, after leaving the team's entourage a few weeks ago.
It should be recalled that about a month ago, Girard explained that he was entering the NHL and NHLPA player assistance program to take care of his mental health.
He sought treatment for severe anxiety and depression, which also led to alcohol abuse.
We are very happy for him, a great example for the youth.
Details to follow.
