The Avalanche make a big announcement regarding Jonathan Drouin, and it's officially over for him in the top six in Colorado
Apparently, the Quebec-born forward and former Montreal Canadiens player, Jonathan Drouin, is not having the start to the season many hoped for with the Colorado Avalanche.
After being placed on the 1st line with star players Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon, and even on the 1st wave of the power play at times, and after scoring 1 point in his first game there, things are getting tougher for Jonathan.
He currently has 1 point in 5 games in total, and his ice time is visibly decreasing.
He went from nearly 18 minutes in the first game, to 15 minutes, to 14 minutes, and in the last two games, he was down to 11 minutes (of ice time).
What was bound to happen has happened. The Avalanche just announced their new lines, and here's the verdict.
Lehkonen -- MacKinnon -- Nichushkin
Tatar -- Johansen -- Rantanen
Wood -- Colton -- Drouin
Cogliano -- Olofsson -- O'Connor
Tomas Tatar has therefore been promoted to the second line, while Drouin is once again demoted, this time to the third line.
In any case and regardless of his stats, we simply wish Jonathan a wonderful and happy season.
He seems to be enjoying himself, he appears to be in good spirits, and that's truly what's important for him. We just need to lower our expectations regarding his personal statistics.
Credit.
